Dallas, July 1, 2013 – The Mary Kay Museum is home to legacy treasures of Mary Kay Inc. and the Company’s iconic founder Mary Kay Ash including past and present Mary Kay® products and walls lined with history and awards such as Mary Kay Ash’s prestigious Horatio Alger Award. Now, the Mary Kay Museum adds another award to its shelves, an Addison Magazine Readers’ Choice Award for “Favorite Museum.” Addison Magazine’s readers voted in the Readers’ Choice Awards from April 15-June 7. More than 6,000 votes were cast on a number of categories including favorite restaurants, retail stores and attractions. The recognition comes as Mary Kay Inc. celebrates its 50th anniversary of providing top-selling products, a rewarding opportunity and giving back to the community.

“Our world headquarters has called Addison, Texas home for 18 years and we are honored to receive this award from readers in this area,” said Jennifer Cook, Mary Kay Museum Director. “We invite everyone to visit the Mary Kay Museum and learn more about Mary Kay Inc.’s 50-year history and founder, Mary Kay Ash, who showed the world one woman can enrich the lives of others.”

The Mary Kay Museum showcases comprehensive historical pieces illustrating the company’s history since its inception in 1963. Visitors can view some of the first Mary Kay® products, videos and articles of Mary Kay Ash and even a signature diamond bumblebee, a form of recognition for the Mary Kay independent sales force, which can also be found in the world-renowned Smithsonian Institution located in Washington, D.C. The Mary Kay Museum showcases a rich Company history which lays the foundation for the Company’s future for the next 50 years.

The Mary Kay Museum has also been recognized as one of the “Top 10 Sights to See in Dallas” by Transitions Optical and one of the “Fantastic Foursome” places to visit in Dallas by Dallas Hotel Magazine. The Mary Kay Museum opened in 1993 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Mary Kay Inc.
