DALLAS, May 13, 2013 – Five years after Beauty by Mary Kay was founded by Mary Kay Ash in a small Dallas storefront in 1963, the HP Byron Nelson Championship became a premier event on the PGA tour and one of the most anticipated sporting and social events in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. Today, these two Dallas icons come together as Mary Kay Inc. provides award-winning Mary Kay® products including Mary Kay® Sun Care Sunscreen to, volunteers and golfers as the official skin care partner of the 2013 HP Byron Nelson Championship.

The tournament held May 13-19 at TPC Four Seasons Resort and Club Las Colinas in Irving, Texas, is not only one of the biggest sporting events in North Texas, but also it’s the most financially successful charity event on the PGA tour, raising more than $127 million for children and families served by Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers. Since 1920, the non-profit organization has worked to improve the lives of at-risk and troubled kids and families in the greater Dallas area through education, counseling and other therapeutic services.

“As we celebrate our 50th anniversary and decades of giving back to our community, it’s only fitting that Mary Kay partners with another well-known Dallas area icon, the HP Byron Nelson Championship,” said Sheryl Adkins-Green, Mary Kay Inc.’s Chief Marketing Officer. “We’re thrilled to provide our irresistible products at this high-profile event that not only entertains but benefits children and families in our hometown.”

As the official skincare partner of the tournament, Mary Kay will have the opportunity to place Mary Kay® products in PGA tour locker rooms, hospitality suites, skyboxes and directly into the hands of volunteers.

“We are proud to partner with Mary Kay to provide sunscreen for our players, volunteers and other supporters. Being an outdoor event, this amenity is something that has great value to the overall experience,” said Jon Drago, HP Byron Nelson Championship’s Tournament Director. “Mary Kay has been an iconic brand in North Texas for the past 50 years and has always embraced the core values of giving back to the community that is so near and dear to our heart with regard to our work with at-risk kids.”
