DALLAS, TX (April 29, 2019) – Mary Kay Inc., an international leader in corporate social responsibility, announced today its convening sponsorship of the Boston College Center’s 2019 International Corporate Citizenship Conference. Taking place in Dallas from April 28 – 30, the conference invites CSR professionals to connect with colleagues, learn practical strategies for deepening engagement, discover tactics to unleash the full power of teams, and find inspiration to set ambitious goals in community involvement, environmental sustainability and more.

“Mary Kay is a thought leader in corporate social responsibility,” said Dr. Lucy Gildea, Chief Scientific Officer at Mary Kay. “It’s important to understand industry trends when it comes to local and global giving, employee engagement, community impact, sustainability and program analysis. We’re excited to partner again with Boston College’s Center for Corporate Citizenship and to continue to serve as a leading example of what it means to be a good corporate citizen.”

As part of the conference, Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship hosted the 2019 International Corporate Citizenship Film Festival as an opportunity for companies to tell their stewardship stories and be recognized for their achievements. Mary Kay tied for first place in the small business category and was awarded fan favorite by receiving the highest number of votes for its video highlighting the company’s commitment to ending domestic violence.

The conference hosts more than 600 corporate citizenship professionals, creating a supportive and lively environment for broad-range dialogue and learning. This year’s conference focuses on the powerful relationship between people, purpose and progress. Dr. Lucy Gildea will kick-off the breakfast general session on April 29, where she will speak on Mary Kay’s cancer grants program and how it is turning the program into an inspiring citizenship effort.

“For decades, Mary Kay has been empowering women to meet their ambitious goals,” said Gildea. “Our business model enriches millions of women’s lives around the world through a rewarding business opportunity. By striving to both end domestic violence and eliminate cancers affecting women, Mary Kay has deeply embedded in its culture the importance of connecting people to a larger purpose.”

Over the course of more than two decades, The Mary Kay FoundationSM has awarded more than $78 million to women’s shelters and domestic violence service providers, as well as cancer research programs and related causes throughout the United States.
