Two Mary Kay executives Named to BLACK ENTERPRISE’s 2019 ‘Most Powerful Women in Corporate America’ list.
Our company’s founder and legendary business executive, Mary Kay Ash, was one of the original glass ceiling breakers. After experiencing inequality in the workplace, she knew she had to make a change, not only for herself but for all women.
Fast forward more than 55 years and two other Mary Kay executives are paving the way for women of all backgrounds – Sheryl Adkins-Green, Chief Marketing Officer, and Julia Simon, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, who were both named to BLACK ENTERPRISE’s 2019 ‘Most Powerful Women in Corporate America’ list.
“I am proud to be included in BLACK ENTERPRISE’s list of most powerful women in corporate America,” said Adkins-Green. “To be considered among the most transformative business leaders of color is an honor. Serving in a leadership role on the Mary Kay Inc. executive team provides me with opportunity to mentor and inspire women of all backgrounds to achieve their fullest potential.”
Included in the list of ‘Most Powerful Women in Corporate America’ are 136 women nationwide who have succeeded by leading with performance, deeply understanding their company culture and deftly navigating the current corporate landscape.
“It’s a true honor to be listed among so many powerful, intelligent and accomplished women of color,” said Simon. “I strongly believe it’s the role of my team to clear the path so that millions of Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants around the globe have an opportunity to pursue success in their businesses.”
As a corporate leader in women’s empowerment, we celebrate Sheryl, Julia and all the other fearless female executives who continue to rise to the top and determine their own destiny!
