In our ongoing commitment to advance entrepreneurship and global female empowerment, Mary Kay joined corporate leaders at the United Nations Global Compact for Gender Equality forum.
The event organized by Global Compact Network USA in Los Angeles, California, invited attendees to explore the many ways in which businesses can take action to promote gender equality in the workplace, marketplace and community. With over 10,000 corporate participants and other stakeholders from more than 160 countries, it is the largest voluntary corporate sustainability initiative in the world.
Deborah Gibbins, Chief Operating Officer of Mary Kay Inc., participated in the UN event as part of a panel on gender equality. “I challenge our peers in business to make a public pledge to become gender-equal by recruiting, developing and promoting women and by encouraging female leadership throughout their organizations. This event is an important step to work with others across the business, investment, government and academia sectors who are just as passionate about solving this issue as we are,” said Gibbins.
